Volunteer

Volunteer to greet guests, take orders, serve food and help in kitchen while buidling relationships with fellow volunteers and cafe guests. These vital volunteers  help make everyone feel welcome and essential.

Gardeners work together to provide herbs and vegetables for Essentials Cafe meals, grow flowers for beauty, and provide opportunities for gardeners to learn from each other and marvel together at creation.  We have garden plots at the Cafe itself and at the historic Widow's House on Church Street.

Caretakers help care for the physical property of the cafe.  So far, they have helped to refresh the dining room areas with fresh paint.  Some of their projects include painting, small repairs, lawn mowing and snow removal.

Members of our Foragers group actively look  for sources of free or discounted food from agenices, grocery stores, and local farms.  Their work will help us provide healthy food for eveyone who eats and finds welcome at Essentials Cafe.

Boosters help with fundraising and grantwriting.   They  research and write grants for our renovation project, our garden, and the regular operation of the  Essentials Cafe.

Dreamers ad Prayers hold the café and volunteers in hope and/or prayer.  They can be at home or anywhere.   No Religious affiliation is required, just a hope-filled heart.
